Quesada gigas is a species of large cicada ranging from Central Texas to Argentina. Giant Cicada is a habitat generalist, and immature insects spends at least four years underground feeding on roots of trees, mostly of family Fabaceae. Q. gigas is considered the loudest insect in the Western Hemisphere.
